ARDA Committees

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is chaired by the Treasurer and includes the Secretary, Past President, and two members nominated by the President and confirmed by the Board of Directors. This Committee reviews the financial records of the Association throughout the year and monitors the financial health of the organization. It approves financial reports presented by the Treasurer to the Executive Committee each month and the financial reports presented at the Annual Meeting. The Finance Committee operates in accordance with the Finance Committee Standard Operating Procedures as approved by the Board of Directors.

Financial Review Committee

The Financial Review Committee is chaired by the Second Vice President and includes a Past President and two members nominated by the President and confirmed by the Board of Directors. The Committee is responsible for reviewing the financial records of the Association and submitting a written report of its findings before the last day of the fiscal year. This review ensures the financial records are accurate and finalized for use by the accountants in the filing of the Association’s federal 990 form. The review is performed in accordance with procedures approved by the Board of Directors and provides an additional level of oversight and transparency regarding the Association’s financial practices.

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee is chaired by the Second Vice President and is responsible for the management and administration of the Association’s scholarship programs. This includes setting eligibility criteria, reviewing applications, selecting recipients, and promoting scholarship opportunities to the membership and broader community. The Committee works to support the next generation of professionals in the railway development field by providing educational funding and opportunities.

Digital Strategy Committee

The Digital Strategy Committee is chaired by the First Vice President and focuses on the development and implementation of the Association’s digital presence, including the website, social media channels, and other digital communications. The Committee is responsible for ensuring the Association’s online platforms effectively communicate its mission, activities, and value to members and external stakeholders. This Committee also advises on digital tools and technology that can enhance member engagement and support the Association’s goals.
